Promotion Research Conference:
Title: Community based health promotion - from theory to practice

Aim and content:
At the end of the course the Ph.D students should have knowledge of the
latest theories, methods and practical skills in community based health promotion.
Lectures and exercises include:
• theoretical basis
and evidence base for community interventions, including needs
assessment, planning models and evaluations
• health and welfare policies from the perspectives of theory and
applications settings approach in health development
• case studies of local interventions: implementation and evaluation
practical exercises, group work and feedback sessions
• Lectures will be given by a number of the most influential
national and international researchers in the area.
Study credits:
The course and preparatory reading give 3 ETCS
points.
Students:
Participants are required to have a basic knowledge of theories and
methods of health promotion and to be actively involved - or have
interest in health promotion. As preparation for each lecture,
participants are expected to read literature two hours per lecture.
A reader will be provided before the course.
